The Story of Interstate 238

This sign assembly on southbound Interstate 580 north of Hayward tells the story of Interstate 238. California 238 is a major route in Hayward; Interstate 238 is the extension of that route westward to Interstate 880. These signs use the older-style button reflectors that were once the standard in California; unfortunately, the button reflectors aren't clearly visible in this photo due to lighting conditions on a cloudy day in February 2007. In April 2008, I took another photo from a different angle in hopes of showing the button reflectors more clearly.
