Who Are You Calling a Block Face?

Complex parking sign in Davis, California

Parking space is at a premium in many college towns, and Davis, home to a University of California campus, is no exception. But these parking signs, which are all over downtown Davis, seem to take parking tensions to a new level. And they use a term I've never seen before, a block face. Apparently the idea is that a vehicle parked in a block can't park anywhere else on the block, on either side of the street, for four hours after first parking on the street.
