Foldout destination sign on California 282 in Coronado

Foldout signs are uncommon in the milder parts of California, but here's one on California 282 just before it intersects with California 75 in Coronado. The wooden post at the left may indicate that the folding feature of the sign isn't used any more. Perhaps the sign was built this way originally to accomodate military traffic to and from the North Island Naval Air Station. California 282 is essentially a spur between the military base and California 75.
