Button Reflectors on a City Street

Once standard in California, the older-style button reflectors sometimes are even seen on signs that aren't on a freeway. This one is directing traffic on northbound Hesperian Boulevard in San Leandro, indicating the lane to use to access the freeway entrance for Interstate 238. Interstate 580 is about three miles east of here. Quite a few signs for Interstate 238 at the western end of the route also include markers for Interstate 580. I-238 connects Interstates 580 and 880.
