The second-oldest California county courthouse is in Bridgeport, in the huge eastern Sierra county of Mono. The Italianate style courthouse was built in 1880. The county seat was moved to Bridgeport in 1864 after surveyors discovered that the original Mono county seat, Aurora, was really in Nevada.
