It's not just any tree, it's a Moreton Bay fig tree, the largest of its kind in the United States, 160 feet in width. It's located near the US 101 freeway and the railroad depot in downtown Santa Barbara. The tree was planted in 1874. And, yes, that's US 101 (look for the semi that can be seen under one of the tree's branches) in the background of this photo taken in July 2005.
