Ordinary Sign, But the Font May Not Be Ordinary

This one-way sign on Commercial Street at York Street in downtown Nevada City may not seem so unusual. But look at the font: I believe it's quite likely FHWA Series F. That's the one American sign font that isn't used very much, possibly because there aren't so many instances in which a sign can make good use of a font that's wider than it is high.
