This inset map for Los Angeles and vicinity was on the back side of the 1961 official California highway map. Compared to the inset on the front side of the map, this one was in black and white. While some freeways had been built, they were shown as if they were ordinary highways. Other freeways, indicated by dotted or dashed routes, had not yet been built, or were under construction.
