South of Market Street, the Octavia Boulevard/Central Freeway project did not really result in much of an improvement for the neighborhood where Duboce and Mission Streets intersect. In 2003 and 2004, this area became much lighter and brighter once the old skyway was removed. Then the new skyway, pictured here, went up. It's not quite as bad as the old skyway but it is still an intrusion on the neighborhood.
