Octavia Boulevard's north end is at Hayes Green, shown here. The transition from a wide boulevard to a narrow city street is made by ending the main boulevard a block south of where the boulevard's frontage streets end. Otherwise, the boulevard would just abruptly end. This design also created some open space on Hayes Green.
