In the side of the cliff overlooking the south bank of the Missouri River, there are steps for the Lafayette County War Memorial. As it turned out, those steps were a great place to get this view of the bridge.
It was a sunny day at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon in October 2003, so the bridge cast quite a shadow. Especially interesting, I thought, were the lattice-like shadows from the long approach to the bridge.
