The route map for US 60 from the 1926 Missouri official road map shows the route between the Oklahoma border near Joplin to St. Louis. Before 1926, the route was State Highway 14. The following year, US 60 was redesignated US 66. What was then US 62 was renumbered US 60. US 66's modern equivalent is Interstate 44.
