The route log for US 61 from the 1928 Missouri official road map shows major points along the route between the Iowa state line at the northeasternmost corner of Missouri to the Arkansas state line in Missouri's Bootheel. US 61 also was concurrent with US 40 in the St. Louis area, as indicated on this log.
