One of the few left-handed exits outside major cities in Missouri is on the east side of Columbia. It's a half-exit for Business Loop 70 for westbound traffic. In the distance you may be able to see a small radio tower next to the left post of the sign gantry. That tower was for AM station KFRU. KFRU moved its transmitter a year after this photo was taken on July 24, 1998. The old tower, which had been at this location since 1950, is now gone.
In 2004 and 2005, this exit was lengthened and realigned to prevent traffic entering Interstate 70 from US 63 from cutting over two lanes to take the Business Loop 70 exit. As a result of the reconstruction, this gantry was removed.
