In the northeastern corner of Boone County, the people of Centralia are proud of the athletic prowess of their high school teams, as indicated on the supplemental signs under the city-limit sign northbound on Missouri 124. In the distance, you can see the overpass that spans two sets of railroad tracks. Before that overpass was built, Missouri 124 stopped here and went into downtown Centralia.
