In 2012, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission designated the Chicago-Kansas City corridor Route 110, even though a Missouri 110 designation existed elsewhere in the state. The additional designation runs along Interstate 35 from Cameron to Kansas City, and along US 36 from Cameron to Hannibal. Exit 54 is where the designation transitions between I-35 and US 36. The Missouri 110 designation, along with the Chicago-Kansas City Corridor marker, were added to an existing sign sometime in February or March, looking like a premature footnote.
