Several alternate freeway routes were indicated in September 2008 for Interstate 29. The routes were designated to allow traffic to avoid construction work on Interstate 29 (and I-35) in Kansas City just north of North Kansas City. Interstate 435 was one of the alternates; others were Interstate 635 and US 169.
This set of markers was on northbound I-435 about halfway between Missouri 45 and Missouri 152.
