What's with the blank on the Big Green Sign on I-44 near Lebanon? Rich Piehl explained:
A few months ago [in 2001] an oversize load damaged an overpass. MoDOT removed the overpass (obviously missing in the background) and replacement isn't happening very quickly. Because the overpass is gone you can't access Highway MM from this direction (westbound 44). So what to do about the signage? Just put a big white blotch over it.
