Since December 12, 2012, the Interstate 49 designation has been added to the US 71 freeway through western Missouri. This junction assembly is on 32nd Street, Route FF, in Joplin. Note the absence of the state name from the Interstate shield, contrary to what had been the usual practice in Missouri.
