Kansas 238 is another route into Missouri, but it's a route to a very small part of Missouri. This photo was taken on K-238, looking east toward US 36 in September 2008. The arrow is pointing north, toward the St. Joseph, Missouri airport. Rosencrans Memorial Airport is on a small section of land that was stranded from the rest of St. Joseph when the Army Corps of Engineers dug a new channel for the Missouri River after devastating floods in 1952. The airport, though, had been at the site since 1939.
