When a new alignment of US 65 was built through Trenton with an interchange for Missouri Route 6 in 1973, Business US 65 took the place of the old highway. The exit sign on the right dates from the original installation, and places the Business banner inside the US shield. The sign on the left is relatively recent, as you can tell from its much darker color, and places the Business legend outside the shield.
