MoDOT places "Drive Smart" signs near construction zones. But this one was found on the ground near the south end of the Christopher S. Bond bridge at Hermann just before construction was completed. It was probably at the south approach of the old bridge, but just before the first week of October 2007, traffic had been switched to the new bridge. So, it appears, the "Drive Smart" sign ended up on the ground, to be taken away with the end of the bridge project.
