Missouri 13, Missouri 14, and US 160 in Nixa

Intersection in Nixa, Mo.

The sign assembly for eastbound traffic on Missouri 14 is a little unusual, because there are no directional arrows indicating the route for US 160. The US 160 shields also how Missouri handled three-digit US routes in a square marker. Sometimes, a narrower Series B font was used (left shield). Other times (right shield) the Series C font was used, taking advantage of the narrow width of the number 1 to squeeze all three digits into the shield. Since 2000, Missouri has been more likely to use a wider rectangular shield for three-digit routes.
