In December 2007, Zora Street still marked the end of the original designation route of Missouri 249, though 249 continued on supplemental roads until Business US 71 in Carterville. This destination sign from Zora Street points to the southbound destinations on 249. It's odd that the Interstate shield is a smaller size than the Missouri state shield on this sign.
