Square and "wide" rectangular markers are both in use for Route VV at its intersection with Missouri 249 in Joplin. The square marker, formerly standard for all routes, is in the foreground. The "wide" marker, now standard for two-lettered supplemental routes, is shown in the background sign assembly. That assembly also shows a similar rectangular marker for Missouri 249.
