After all, there's US 169 in Kansas City, too, right? Alas, Route 269 in Kansas City was a state route rather than a US route, despite what's indicated by this sign assembly on westbound Interstate 35.
As part of the Chouteau Parkway project, which began in April 2012, the state relinquished control of Route 269 to Kansas City. As a consequence, the route was decommissioned.
