Here is the only place I've seen a 2 ton weight limit on a public road. (The bare minimum is supposed to be 3 tons according to Federal standards.) This is the Buechter Bridge in Miller County, which suffered a partial collapse in 2000, killing one person. Amazingly, it's still open to traffic. But many vehicles are too heavy to legally cross.
