Going west on West 5th Street approaching Broadway in Kansas City, the driver is confronted with numerous choices. This intersection is close to the northwest corner of the downtown freeway loop. So you can go south on Interstate 35 and US 169 headed to the Southwest Trafficway, west on Interstate 70 and US 24 into Kansas, north on US 169 to the Broadway Bridge over the Missouri River (the Broadway Extension was closed when this photo was taken in September 2012), or you could turn around by crossing the freeway and then taking West 6th Street back to eastbound Interstate 70. The signs on the post for the gantry illustrate the choice for turning around, probably less popular than the others. It's easy to get lost in this area!
