This is the inset map for Columbia from the 1969 official state highway map. A comparison with the 2005-2006 official map shows numerous changes:
- US 63 has been upgraded to a freeway. From Interstate 70 northward, US 63 gradually curves to the northwest, with interchanges, from south to north, at Mexico Gravel Road (not on this map), Route B, and Oakland Gravel Road (shown here as Oakland Road).
- The interchange with Interstate 70 is now indirect (for lack of a better term) with US 63 crossing over Interstate 70 directly east of Hinkson Creek.
- The north segments of Business US 63 and US 63 are now Missouri 763. US 63 and Route 763 meet near the community of Prathersville north of Columbia.
- The south segment of Missouri 763 extends all along College Avenue. In addition, the city has renamed Tandy Avenue and Price Avenue. They are now College Avenue as well.
- Business US 63 has been decommissioned. The city named the street "Old 63" sometime around 1980.
- Missouri 740 has been extended from Old 63 to US 63.
- Route K is now Missouri 163.
- The segment of Route WW between Old 63 and US 63 was decommissioned in 2005.
- Conley Lane (Route 740 near I-70) has been renamed Stadium Boulevard.
