This is the inset map for Jefferson City from the 1969 official state highway map. Since 1969, the following changes have occurred:
- Jefferson City annexed areas north of the Missouri River in Callaway County, including the community of Cedar City.
- Missouri 179 was moved to a new alignment, intersecting with US 50 at Business US 50.
- As a consequence, Dix Road is no longer designated Missouri 179.
- Missouri 179 was extended from US 50 to US 54, forming a bypass around much of Jefferson City.
- A second Missouri River bridge span was built, enabling US 54 and US 63 to be upgraded to a freeway.
- Route B was rerouted and now meets up with Missouri 179 at US 54, skirting the southern edge of Jefferson City.
- Business US 50 on the east side of the city, starting at Clark Street, has been decommissioned.
- The set of ramps along US 54 and US 63 between the Missouri River and US 50 has been rebuilt and realigned.
