Beware of Biking Elks

Western endpoint of NM 501 southwest of Los Alamos

NM 501 is one of the two routes into Los Alamos. The other is NM 502 and, together, they form a city route into Los Alamos. The western endpoint of NM 501 is at NM 4 on the north side of the Bandelier National Monument. In the distance are warning signs for bicycles ... and elk!
