This is one of several sign assemblies for the former concurrence (multiplex) of US 54, US 70, and US 82 in Alamogordo, New Mexico along White Sands Boulevard.
However, US 82 now ends at US 54 and 70 at the north end of Alamogordo, where a new bypass route also is marked as the route for US 54 and US 70. But the bypass route itself is not marked for either US 54 or US 70. Either the bypass route is too new for markers, or that route has a different designation not apparent to the casual motorist. Meantime, the markers on White Sands Boulevard remain, at least in 2004. At that time, they were not shown with anything resembling a "Business" designation.
