US 66 commemorative clock in downtown Albuquerque

In downtown Albuquerque at the intersection of Fourth Street and Central Avenue, a clock commemorates the intersection of two former routes of US 66. The pre-1937 route through Albuquerque went north-and-south through downtown on what later became US 85 (now unmarked NM 313). The later, more famous route, ran east-west along Central Avenue.

On this photo, taken in May 2004, note the US 66 shield on the clock. It should also be noted that Fourth Street north of Central has been converted to a pedestrian walkway for three blocks between Central on the south and Marquette Avenue on the north.
