From Tulsa to Joplin on Route 66

Button reflectors for Interstate 44/Oklahoma 66 freeway entrance in Tulsa

The East cardinal banner is, unusually, in a separate sign on this assembly at the South 49th West Avenue (yes, that's its name) freeway entrance for Interstate 44 and Oklahoma 66 in Tulsa. Oklahoma 66 is, in many stretches, the modern designation for US 66 in Oklahoma.

Also note the older-style button reflectors on this sign, including the Oklahoma 66 marker. This photo was taken in October 2004, a couple of years before Oklahoma changed to a state marker that included an outline of the state's borders.
