Aside from being a scenic vista point, the Big Cedar Overlook on US 259 in southeastern Oklahoma also hosts a memorial to President John F. Kennedy. US 259, a scenic route through the mountains of Oklahoma, was dedicated by President Kennedy on October 29, 1961.
