This historic marker on Interstates 55 and 70 in Fairmont City, Illinois indicates that the current Illinois route 111 once had a different designation. This exit is just six miles from the Mississippi River, but this spot has a surprisingly rural look considering its location in the heavily industrialized Illinois side of the St. Louis metropolitan area.
