Cutout-style US shields are rare outside California, so this April 2002 find (left) from David Backlin in Oklahoma was quite a catch. Alternate US 69 is a connector between US 69 north of Miami and the former Oklahoma 137 south of Quapaw. At the time this photo was taken, Oklahoma 137 was still a state highway.
However, David returned to the area in 2003 to find (right) that it had become an Ottawa County road.
