When photographed in 2002, this nicely-framed directional sign in downtown San Luis Obispo showed the way back to the two main highways in the region. The white-on-green US 101 outline was occasionally seen on overhead freeway signs as well.
These signs were replaced in 2005 and 2006 with signs featuring prominent arrows and shields with a different appearance.
