Passing onto the Paseo

Which is the exit here? At one time, the Paseo Bridge was intended for its namesake street in Kansas City. These days, traffic mostly follows Interstate 35 (Exit 3) into the downtown freeway loop. But the interchange is constructed in a manner that suggests that the Paseo once would have been the main route. Thus, it appears, either way you go from here, it's an exit, depending upon your historical perspective. These signs have been replaced since 1998, as shown by an earlier view of the interchange.

Since this photo was taken, the Paseo Bridge was replaced by the Christopher Bond Bridge, named after the former Missouri senator. The Bond Bridge opened in 2010.
