Kansas always uses the wide-style shield for three-digit US highways, as seen on US 160 east of Pittsburg. The digits sometimes vary in width and length, as can be seen on another sign in the vicinity.
The Pass with Care sign indicates the end of a No-Passing Zone, another standard Kansas practice.
